Of all the things the French tried to “fix” during the revolution, it amazes me that they didn’t try to simplify the way they say large numbers. Or if they did, that it didn’t stick.
I am trying to learn French, and haven’t got into large numbers yet, but I know about this, and I am dreading it.

That makes sense. Those same people I know saying it all the time also send me tiktok links I never open.
A similar reaction when you see someone suddenly has a joint Facebook account with their spouse. Or when out of nowhere they start posting bible quotes 10 times a day with photos of their spouse and kids. (Someone’s been a cheatin.)
The fact that the only adults I know regularly saying it are right wingers, has made me paranoid that it’s some secret Nazi shit. Even though I can find no evidence of that online.
I can technically claim I started with a hand me down C64 from my grandmother in the early 90s. But I was like 6 years old, and I didn’t really get into computers until we got a Windows 95 machine a couple of years later. Though by 99-2000 I was regularly playing around with the C64 for the novelty of what felt like ancient tech.
I remember using dialup internet on windows 98 in the late 90s to look up how to use the C64.
That’s pretty much why I am studying it.
