It would be like having no street lights and everyone being giant douches that think they should be able to go whenever they want. It would end poorly for some.

Everyone needs to read the article. We all have the ability to grow a third set of teeth. This drug takes away what’s suppressing that third set. I’m not saying it’s safe, but what you’re worried about isn’t the issue.
I had a friend that said they had those, I never saw it though. I bet there are people who do, or they were fucking with me.

Politics@sh.itjust.works•US Border Patrol chief announces his resignation in a Fox News interviewEnglish
18·15 hours agoI hadn’t seen that. Thanks for posting about it. They don’t really talk about their ages either:
Trump’s Border Patrol chief accused of regularly soliciting sex workers abroad
Six current and former Border Patrol agents are coming forward to accuse the agency’s chief, Michael Banks, of repeatedly soliciting sex workers while overseas, reported the conservative Washington Examiner on Wednesday.
“Banks ‘bragged’ to colleagues while in his previous management role at Border Patrol about paying for sex with prostitutes while traveling in Colombia and Thailand over the course of a decade,” said the report. “Banks’ behavior was said to have been investigated by Customs and Border Protection officials twice, including last year, but the investigation ended abruptly while Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was in office, leading to more questions.”
One of the sources, who claims Banks tried to invite him along on one of these trips, told the Examiner, “I don’t know how he became the chief of the Border Patrol with his character. He’s going to third-world countries to take advantage of poor f------ women, which disgusts the hell out of me.”
See my other comment itt for the source.
The animal data that convinced regulators and researchers to proceed to human trials represents years of painstaking experimental work.
In the mouse studies published in scientific journals since 2018, blocking USAG-1 consistently produced supernumerary teeth in animals that should have grown only their standard set.
The ferret studies were particularly significant, because ferrets, like humans, are diphyodont, meaning they naturally develop only two sets of teeth in a lifetime.
When ferrets were treated with the USAG-1 blocking antibody, they grew additional teeth beyond their natural adult set.
The teeth were complete.
They were functional.
They bonded with the surrounding bone and tissue in the same way naturally occurring teeth do.

1·20 hours agoAnd now we’re back to OP’s original comment. I think you’re agreeing with them.
This. And nearly no artist makes big money on art unless a.) they die first or b.) it’s some BS “modern art” paint splattered on a page made for the explicit purpose of being purchased by a bazillion are and “donated” to a museum so they can make a huge tax write off. (Read: used to dodge taxes)

politics @lemmy.world•AOC: You can’t ‘earn’ a billion dollars
4·2 days agoI can name a LOT of them: Damien Hurst, Banksy, David Hockney, Jasper Johns, and many, many more. Plenty more that have died recently, but were hugely famous during their lifetimes, like Chuck Close or Roy Lichtenstein, who are displayed in nearly every museum in the world, including the Met and MOMA. Many artists like Picasso, Rembrandt, Michaelangelo, Monet, and many more, were extraordinarily famous in their lifetimes.
I think you’re being very naive. One of the people you mentioned did something exactly for the purpose op was saying. 20 artists in the last century in museums isn’t a lot of people either. All of that is decided by the tastemakers, the people who have connections and/or lots and lots of money to run the museum. Bill Gates mom ran the Seattle Art Museum for years.
