Sounds pretty fun! It might be another good game to jump into on the Steam Deck when you have a little bit of time. I’m curious to see how the multiplayer will be.
I am definitely a human, and therefore have a profile description, as humans do.

I am also [email protected]!

Same here. Less money on CGI and props, more money on writers!

We actually haven’t gotten that far yet to see it ourselves, but I’ve heard that it felt a bit tacked on. I think I would be fine with Piper as the Doctor if they had some good stories, but to me it seems a little too much like nostalgia bait. Especially after 14!

Yeah, I’m curious to see what they decide to do there, especially after it seemed the fan response wasn’t extremely positive. I know my wife was not impressed when she heard about it! I’m sure he’ll be tempted to use 14 in some capacity since he’s still presumably floating around somewhere too.
Either way, hopefully the break gives them a chance to regroup and come back fresh!

Kind of what I was expecting, although I’m not sure if a short break might not have been better. I guess we’ll see what happens.
Now for the million dollar question: Who will be in the Christmas special?! :-)

Apparently in later Discovery they actually used a starship, the USS Federation, as the Federation headquarters. It appears the Athena is just for the academy though.

It’s rare that I find a game that I want to buy anymore, so I’m probably often in that percentage. I’m still regularly playing games I’ve owned for over ten years now, and usually don’t see a lot of reason to keep buying more. I did buy two this year, one on launch and one on a sale. I also picked up a few DLCs for two of my long-time favorites.

That sounds quite frustrating! I’m not sure if TS4 has it since I don’t play it, but in TS3 I always had at least one Sim with a high handiness skill, and I would have them give the unbreakable upgrade to everything possible! It made it so much nicer.
That reminds me, I haven’t played it in a little while. I probably should!

I remember this post! I ended up buying the game afterward, and although I don’t have a huge number of hours on it, I did find it pretty good.

Fortunately the WRC rights went back to NACON after that one game, so they won’t be affected!

Actually they don’t! The rights went back to NACON a few months ago. Good timing, although I know not everyone likes the older WRC games either.

I would classify all of those titles as clickbait and ignore them. I play and enjoy both games, and both have their place.

I sometimes feel like I was the only kid that always tried to make sure my citizens were taken care of as well as I could!
It was just on sale for $8.49 USD not too long ago, so it’ll probably be similar at the next Steam sale!
I enjoyed it too! It felt like an episode of Star Trek, which was exactly what I was looking for. I do wish they would have had a few more possible branches and outcomes, (I replayed it with different decisions and the story didn’t vary too much, but maybe I just didn’t pick the right ones!) but that’s only an issue after a time or two. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone that likes TNG or VOY style stories.

I don’t think they usually worry too much about continuity. They’ll try to make things line up and explain inconsistencies sometimes, but there’s a lot of times the writers say “wibbly wobbly, timey wimey” and try to tell a fun story without being locked into things. Seeing that approach for so many years is probably why I normally don’t mind the inconsistencies between the various Star Trek shows!

They could definitely figure out a way to make it work! It could be pretty fun, and I would at least have a big grin on my face when I first saw the TARDIS on the Enterprise bridge!
And yes, I’ve noticed that too. The world of Doctor Who wouldn’t be a great place to live compared to Star Trek, at least from what we’ve been shown. Even the tone of the episodes is often darker, there are quite a few classic and modern episodes that are just family friendly horror. Trek has done some of that over the years, but it seems Who leans into it more, or at least I notice it more!

It would make a lot of people annoyed, and open up a huge number of issues with trying to match up timelines, but… I would watch a crossover. I would probably enjoy it too, as long as they had a good story to tell with it! I would think it would be best done as a streaming movie or something though.

I thought it was pretty interesting. Of course first episodes are usually weighed down a little by setting everything up, but it seemed they did a pretty good job of it anyway.
Even though I don’t know any of the actors other than the former Trek actors and Wrenn Schmidt, the accents and voices are fortunately different enough that it’s not hard to keep up with so far. I do hope they don’t expand the cast too much farther though, or they could risk more casual listeners being unable to keep track of the various characters.
Khan is definitely not on my list of things I would like Star Trek to focus on, but I hope this series does well enough that they consider doing some more varied stories within the format in the future. And of course I plan on continuing to listen to this one too, and I hope they tell some interesting stories.
That controller will be an easy buy for me! I don’t do a lot of couch gaming because I don’t like standard controllers, but I’ll happily use one of these. The Steam Machine and VR headset aren’t that exciting to me, but I’m sure there’s a market for them.
