Vision Pro is an incredible headset in many ways, but as I’ve opined previously, it’s too bulky and too expensive for the average person to justify its $3,500 price point.
Samsung’s Galaxy XR headset might not move the needle on size, but it’s offering a similar experience to Vision Pro at a huge discount. The launch price of $1,800 isn’t cheap by any means, but considering the similarities between Vision Pro’s specs & features, it’s far more affordable.
I wonder how the lens compare to other headsets and if it can connect to pc steam vr.
I just ordered one and if the lenses are not close to my Quest Pro it is going to be returned.
@MyOpinion is it running vision os? If no, how is it comparable?
It is not running Vision OS. It is running Android XR. Time will tell how comparable they both are. Android XR seems to be much better in the AI support area.
I still feel like this new wave of higher end headsets (the Vision Pro and Galaxy XR) are lacking in functionality and content compared to either a PC headset or a Meta headset. Really weird having two devices that are 3x-10x the price but only a 20% improvement spec-wise.
