GrapheneOS devs stirring up shit as usual? Say it isn’t so…
Seems like a reasonable concern but I’m not in the position to verify rn
No link was posted with that claim. But the entire thing was started because somebody on GrapheneOS had a fit over an article calling the FairPhone “probably the best phone for anyone who values their privacy even slightly”. That rustled their jimmies so much they had to make an entire forum post about it to disparage anything not GrapheneOS. The founder of eOS even said
GrapheneOS and /e/OS have different goals, different threat-models, different target audience, etc. That’s the case with many ROMs that aren’t GrapheneOS and yet GrapheneOS, in order to make a point, first frame the issue as if other projects are competing for the same things, then they argue how those things aren’t being achieved and how Graphene is achieving them. It’s as if a leopard is saying a shark is terrible at being a shark because it failed at climbing a tree.
The GrapheneOS dev just can’t help themselves and compulsively badmouth every other player on the market. At this point, if you’re not GrapheneOS and have beef with GrapheneOS, it’s a badge of honor.
If GrapheneOS can’t say nice things about opensource projects trying to do good, please, just for fucks sake, shut your damn trap and let your code speak for itself.
I think we all agree there. What are Murena’s goals and threat models? How do we verify those?
Literally a minute to confirm.
