Iranian Canadians from Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and supporters of the Lion and Sun Revolution joined the march. Among their demands is an end to Iran’s Internet blackout restricting access to information for those in the country.

“The regime for 47 years has tortured people and we are done with this regime. There is no reform,” Nazeri [one of the protesters] said.

Several members of [the Canadian] Parliament were also in attendance.
“For me, this is a personal cause. I have watched this regime create so much chaos and terror across so many lives and people. To see that this is the end of that regime is a moment of historic proportion,” said Conservative MP for Calgary Heritage Shuvaloy Majumdar.
Iran’s internet blackout has been ongoing since soon after the U.S. and Israel attacked the country on Feb. 28. It is the longest nationwide shut down for any country on record, according to experts.

People who believed this current war was about regime change or bettering conditions for Iranians at the outset were very naïve. Those still cheering the US on after threats to destroy Iran as a civilization are nuts, ignorant or deeply cynical.

They seem to be wisening up. This is among Iranian Americans.
Wanting to restore a hereditary monarch because the last revolution turned on us is like the most euro-colonial moment ever.
Can these absolute cucks not see that America/Israel just want to destroy Iran?
No, they can’t. They can’t see that their family, their friends, their communities are as good as dead, regardless of which set of monsters are butchering them. They want to believe that there’s a world this ends in freedom for their kin, often because it would cost them too much to give up hope.
Better to live in a functioning country with a theocratic government than to live in a shattered basket case without utilities.
Cheering for the death of their countrymen by our enemy.
Seems like they shouldn’t have been granted entry but it’s too late for that.
The question of whether calls for violence being protected speech or not is interesting but I think this should be permitted.
To see that this is the end of that regime
Its end is overdue but seems to have been delayed somewhat by an unfortunate American bombing campaign.
Obliterating a civilization will have that effect on regimes.
And the entirety of the innocents.
But, sweet baby Jesus, that oil money and all that occupied territory sure does make everything perfectly OK.
