    More like credit card fees.

    Also, your meme is backwards.

Hey pal - get your facts straight!

We also bombed that girls elementary school and round up immigrants and illegally kidnapped a politician from another country and now we’re paying for a fucking ballroom!

Not paying taxes sounds pretty good when you look at what the US is spending tax money on.

I used to have this attitude mere decade ago. But that I’ve realised how much everyone wants to fuck me I’m trying to switch back to cash. There are places that do not accept it! Technically illegal - it’s legal tender - but nobody is enforcing it.

As a side benefit, I’m a bit more aware or my spending. There’s something in the brain that has a much better grasp of physical money.

What discount? Every contractor I have hired quoted me the cash price, though they will accept a credit card via a service that makes me pay the credit card fee (and then some).

Yeah, it’s not that there is a discount for paying cash. It’s that there is a surcharge for not doing so.

This includes checks, for any who may not be aware. So you don’t literally need hundreds or thousands of dollars in cash, just to have it available in your debit account.

In my experience, though, every professional will tell you what the cost is and how much more it is if you pay with a card. It doesn’t make them any extra money for you to use a card, so they don’t try to encourage it.

Sure, you could pay with a check, but where’s the fun in that? I have absolutely paid contractors with thousands of dollars in cash stuffed into an envelope. If you ask the teller at your bank nicely, they will even band the bills into tidy stacks so you can feel like you’re in a mobster movie.

Most banks and credit unions make it a pain to withdraw thousands at once. They don’t really want you to do that.

No, multimillion dollar business, I don’t want to pay for your tax cut

I hate when grocery stores collect food for a food bank.

The store makes a profit from me buying food to donate and they get a positive press release when they donate the food.

      Not how it works!!

Businesses can’t claim your donations as their own for tax purposes. Even if they could… deductions come out of your taxable income, not the actual taxes you pay. If you gave $1 to mcdonald’s for charity, they would make $1 of income and then deduct $1, so there would be zero effect on the taxes they pay.

That’s a zero sum. They only get a cut for what you donate, why should they have to pay taxes for your donation?

Funny to think that some people pay to do the opposite. Not paying taxes gives you money you can’t spend and you are going to have to launder it anyway
