Ohh, that one gets me. If it’s e.g. a single USB stick or a piece of paper it’s a medium, not a media. And if you have a bunch of data, a single piece of it should be a datum as well, imo. There’s more (latin based) words like that that I can’t think of right now that do this.

My 13 year old work computer’s Windows 10 got too broken so this week I ignored Microsoft’s opinions and did a fresh install of Windows 11 on it.
Sadly I need Windows for software we use. Alas…
My phone supports 5G, but I never got to try it yet because I’d have to pay extra to my provider (Austria, Magenta (T-Mobile)). Fuck that, 4G is fine by me. Besides, I could still use 3G and aven 2G, although that’d be a bit insane.

My kitchen radio is a Philips Andante, and I love it, and to cook while blasting tunes with it. It sounds great and has good reception (and I have a bluetooth dongle as well).
I originally had a trash picked one as a teenager that I had fixed up, but it died again a few years later, and I couldn’t figure out why. I was so happy when I ran across another one online, got it for about 20€, and fixed it up as well. It’s in better shape than my first one, and I actually know what I’m doing now, electronics wise.

It’s not just that, they wash and reuse the bottles (without melting them down or anything)! Amazing stuff.
They’re finally starting to put more stuff in them here opposed to plastic bottles, and I’m so glad for it.
On my work PC I disabled automatic restarts and I’ll just hibernate it for weeks at a time, keeping my work stuff open. Convenient, and I can install updates when I choose to.

That vacuums are so terribly loud and whiny (and unnecessarily tiny space heaters). Older vacuums used to be bigger and run slower, but in my experience vacuumed as much or even better. Nowadays they put several kilowatt motors in there that somehow don’t do as much but produce immense noise and heat.
If someone vacuums with their window open I can tell from over 100m away by the whine. Fuck that.
I used to hate vaccuming because of that. I’m glad to have an actually quiet vacuum now (a Henry). They’re rare, but they do exist.
I like to add “On the third hand” when there’s a third alternative.
