No rhyme scheme or anything but short and clear
“Picking on kids instead of picking good candidates”?
Idk there’s something there as you said.

I think the Republicans forgot that one of the cornerstones of what made the civil rights movement successful was bigots overplaying their hand and getting too heavy-handed in loud, public ways.
No? My claim is based on countless studies over decades. We know for a fact that there are unhealthy standards of beauty/body types pushed in media, advertising, etc. and that they are harmful to our society, particularly for women. This is a measured, proven thing.
You are providing a competing theory and you need sources.
but I think quite the opposite has happened actually: most people in media are a normal healthy weight, but they’ve been demonized as having “impossible” bodies, and I think a major driver of that is people who don’t want to admit that their body is unhealthy
What is this based on?
“Big is beautiful” is a direct response to the discourse about body image. Obesity is also a real problem tied to many things like you mentioned. These can both be true.
What bothers me is that people like you are so focused on what some see as “overcorrection.” Y’all spend more time talking about that then the reason that reaction happened in the first place: ridiculously unhealthy, constantly plastered images of what we “should“ look like that usually involve women being thin as a needle and men looking like a Greek hero. That’s the crux of the situation here. That we need to challenge these very unhealthy standards. Those standards have been far more damaging than “big is beautiful“ comments have ever been.
How many women have required medical intervention or even died because of unhealthy attempts to make themselves look like a magazine cover? How many people hate themselves and are mocked ruthlessly because a soap commercial shows a body type that most people will never be able to have? That’s the issue at hand here.

You know! Like a bong!
Sorry couldn’t resist. Ripping is a term from CD/DVD days. You’d “rip” the contents off, i.e. make a digital backup. Now it’s applied to making backups of streams as well. Obviously the contents of these discs and streams are your property or otherwise legally obtained materials and are not being duplicated, sold, or in any way distributed to others if the content does not belong to you.

Oh I’m all too familiar. I produced a podcast with 2 other people covering the anti-vax movement - it’s almost 5hrs if memory serves. Part 2 we named “Full Wakefield” lol

RFK Jr and Trump spreading the “good word” too.

Folks need to learn how to rip. It’s a little more tedious but you can’t be tracked and the quality is almost always better. Even the most inexperienced can get started after a few hours of research and tinkering.

Or Amazon putting out that dogshit Jim Caviezel right wing trash

Honestly, what I miss most about early Netflix was the insane library they had of documentaries

As somebody who has been using Netflix since before they even had streaming as an option, I think a lot of people really over-inflate how good the offering was in the early years of their streaming unless you just loved watching reruns of cable television from the 90s and 2000s.
Make no mistake, the offering now is worse. But it’s not like it was truly a central, low priced hub for everything you wanted to watch.

Louder for the folks who think incognito mode saves them from prying eyes lol

Bastion clicked immediately for me. Pyre is an oddball (hyuk hyuk) but I actually did find a good rhythm there and fell in love with it. I replayed it a year or so ago on True Nightwing mode and it was incredible. They’re just so good at making defeat a part of the game and it makes the stakes feel way more real. I’d spend sometimes 15min before a match planning my team and talismans and have these absolute nail biter matches. I got so emotionally invested in it lol

If you’re like me, just get over your pride and play on the easiest difficulty/use whatever cheese is effective. It’s a beautiful game worth experiencing and if it requires you to completely leapfrog the combat then so be it.

It was always a great game IMO, nothing fundamentally changed about it. But I also understand what you mean. I bounced off it once or twice because the combat system is very, very different and I wasn’t sure I was getting it. Didn’t quite find a flow.
Eventually I just sat down and beat it, because it’s actually not a very long game. Like 5 to 7 hours. And the story/music/art is just unbelievable.
You don’t need to get great at the combat. Just kind of learn what builds work for you and be a little flexible when they’re not working.
There is entirely too much potential money to be made and too many interested parties to ever say this.
