Considering the rhetoric of the story, and the misinformation, I don’t put much stock into it. Yahoo has never been a source of biased information and I have no idea who the other source is, or who their sources are (Facebook?).

You have to grow the economy (gdp) if you want real growth without inflation. It’s always easy to say someone else should pay for it, but we do need to ask ourselves what the purpose of government is. The more the government spends, the more inflation we have, especially when it produces demands for goods and services beyond current production capabilities.

So the real solution is for the government to help businesses and industries grow so they can be more competitive, hire more people, grow the gdp.

Which are also paid by the consumer. Industrial carbon taxes make everything more expensive.

Probably true, but it is still undeniably successful.

The real winner is the Canadian government, so it would be just a little hypocritical to increase taxes on oil companies who are benefitting from the same situation.

Y Combinator (Sam Altman’s early venture) had a number of what I would consider huge successes. AirBnb, Dropbox, Reddit to name a few. However, when you are talking startups, it’s like penny stocks. Far more failures than successes.

The company is valued at over $500B, with over 4,500 employees. That is not a scrappy tech startup. If the CEO of a company that valuable is coding, he/she don’t have their priorities straight.
