Technology@lemmy.world•Stop using Opera Browser and Opera GXEnglish
36·2 years agoTo be fair I use Chrome form most day to day things, Firefox sometimes, Edge whenever I want to use AI search (cheatgpt stuff) and Opera is my dedicated porn browser!
Same applies for Manjaro with KDE and on top of that it has support for wallpaper engine which I really wanted.
I recommend KDE as when I switch from windows I tried multiple DE and that one felt the most like windows it also had support for wallpaper engine which I really wanted!
Not gonna lie your sister might have some mental illness, let’s consider for a minute that the dishwasher might be very very good at cleaning I still would never do this due to the gross factor. Sorry mate but I’m not gonna put anything that goes in the bathroom anyway near things that food goes on to!!
For windows users that go to Linux I always recommend KDE as it looks like windows and it’s easy for them to understand and use it!
Not gonna lie in my case it’s a loading problem cause I hear and my hearing si fine but it comes up jumbled and then after 1 to 3 seconds the brain process what I heard.

Linux@lemmy.world•When Windows 10 dies, I am going to jump ship over to Linux. Which version would you recommend for someone with zero prior experience with Linux?English
3·2 years agoFirst of all I recommand that no matter what distribution you get, that you should get one that has KDE as desktop environment as it looks mostly like windows and that would make it easy for you to get used to it.
As for what distro to use well that depends. While searching for info on how to do things when I first went to Linux most posts that I found were for Ubuntu.
Which was annoying as I did not want Ubuntu and I was using Mangaro and later went to Arch.
Manjaro is based on Arch so you can use documentați and forum answers from both Manjaro and Arch. Also Arch has very good documentation but it’s a little too technical for someone that just started using Linux and might confuse you more then answer your questions.
My recomandation would be Manjaro but Ubuntu seems to be easier to find info for!
I also recommend to use ChatGPT or better yet the edge specific ChatGPT(as it is connected to the internet) for answer to problems you have encountered. It’s not perfect but it’s very helpful.

14·2 years agoWell Arc is still bad as far as I know so I don’t see this being as good as Steam Deck, Rog Ally or Legion. But I would really like to be proven wrong!

1·2 years agoWell that’s the problem I was getting 10-20% lower performance on Linux with an Nvidia GPU not to mention g-sync did not work and I was getting screen tearing and bad frame times with Nvidia. That’s why I chose to switch to AMD when I upgraded. Low and behold no such issues anymore.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Driving an AE86 apparently feels just like using wayland with NVIDIA
1·2 years agoIt works but the performance is worst compare to Nvida on windows, I was loosing 10 to 20 fps not to mention that it had some issues with v-sync. I literally was having screen tearing on a 144hz monitor that had g-sync. That’s why I chose to get an AMD gpu when I upgrade I also got a 240hz monitor with freesync and now I actually see either better performance compare to windows or the same!

It’s a fucking cosplay related to a scene in the movie Littile Nikki. The movie is about a guy named Nikki which is on of Satan son and he is a looser nerd whatever! The scene that is cosplay here is when they show how Hitler is punished in hell. Every day he comes in a made outfit with a pineapple and someone shoves the pineapple in his ass!
