It may not be an option if you’re severely restricted on space but it helps if you make enough to freeze a couple extra portions of food and eat them weeks later. Generally when you are cooking for yourself it’s healthier than processed or restaurant food and it’s cheaper. I tend to gravitate to international markets where they have bulk bins of vegetables so you are able to just buy a single carrot, single potato etc. Cooking in slightly larger portions and shopping that way really helps to reduce waste for myself.

I wonder what portion of that is steam decks.
I’m convinced that these conspiracies are spawned from racism towards non white civilizations. It’s easier for them to believe an imagined space God came there and built something rather than the indigenous people. There is also probably some need to believe that we are always at the peak of human progress in all things but in reality the story is more complicated.
I think the tactical nukes will slow their ambitions for another hundred or so years. We can’t take these posturing fools seriously.

I was a teenager at the right time to discover their newer stuff first (Soundtrack to Your Escape) and then went back and loved their earlier albums. It was a bit of a drag hearing fans chanting “Play the old shit” the couple times I saw them live. I can’t say I’ve listened to much of their newest albums but it was fun to enjoy anything they played at the time.

Skeptic@lemmy.world•Genetically modified crops aren't a solution to climate change, despite what the biotech industry saysEnglish
2·2 years agoI haven’t heard anyone try to argue that they would reduce atmospheric levels of green house gases but they sure can allow you to grow crops that are more resistant to drought, require less pesticides and even reduce the need for fertilizer. Potentially reducing the amount of energy intensive inputs for agriculture would have an impact on the environment to some degree.

Ya’ll are missing out. Mochi with red bean paste is amazing. It’s about the sweet and savory combination. Pretty similar to how halva works.

17·2 years agoI caught it in my 30s and it was two weeks of misery. I had never been that sick with a respiratory virus in my life. It’s easy to see it being dangerous for the very young and old.

Climate@slrpnk.net•Plans to present meat as ‘sustainable nutrition’ at Cop28 revealed112·2 years agoRaising animals for meat isn’t inherently an awful thing for the environment. There is land that is useful for grazing but unsuitable for growing crops. Turning inedible grasses into meat is very useful but industrial scale grain fed and fattened meat production clearly is a problem.
