IMO a relatively big college, especially a public college, makes even isolated towns feel kind of urban which could be what you’re picking up on. This is as opposed to a suburb or a rural town where you’re expected to look and act roughly the same as everyone else. Having a large transitional population (of young people) changes their speed.

Plus average job growth isn’t evenly distributed. Noone is mad some people’s wages improved even with inflation, enough to keep the averages up, but a good amount of people’s situations worsened and manufacturers+distributers continue to charge $20 for 12 rolls of toilet paper.

There were some in New York (Housing Cooperatives) that were built slightly before the great depression so went under pretty quick. They also involved owning your unit after a certain number of years. Wish they’d have had a fighting chance, I truly think people need community to live well and condensing work like childcare, food prep, and laundry (tasks that scale really easily*) make life easier for everyone.

U.S. District Judge Kent Wetherell issued a ruling against Escambia County School Board, which has banned above 1,500 books, including the dictionary, under H.B. 1069. I already click right back out of websites that don’t make it easy to reject cookies or ask for an email. I visited and did a day trip bus tour that visited Loch Lomond, the kelpies (statue), and some ‘airy coos (hairy cows) which was a lot of fun. I hadn’t done a bus tour before but it was pleasant getting to see the scenery. Lomond had these cute little efficiency cabins available for rent and was not crowded if you’re interested in tiny house style accommodation. I also recommend the hike up to Arthur’s Seat* if you’ll be in Edinburgh.
