While I’m pronuclear we really need to invest in better nuke power tech. Spending billions, mainly due to the risks with current water cooled reactors, is handicapping it. Systems that minimize waste, use passive failsafe systems, etc are needed.

Fellow Xer here. My optometrist fitted me for my first pair of glasses for reading and said “welcome to your 40s”. I keep a cheap pair in every room and the nice prescription ones in my home/work offices.

Not sure what this has to do with boomers. I’ve heard people of all ages grumble about having to wear glasses.

The reasons I’ve heard (hah) are:

1. They cost a lot
2. People are biased against people who they see wearing hearing aids
3. It makes you feel old and face aging

So instead of reducing a clearly destructive habit now we should wait for a major social change that likely won’t happen. I don’t see how that is more altruistic for the “poor and disaffected”.

Vaping is a joke, they stuck the addictive chemical (nicotine) in it and now they are hooked on vaping. Let them sell vaping goods but they shouldn’t be allowed to add nicotine to them.
