I think there are many people (me included) who have no clue what that icon means.

Right, OP edited the post to now include “over 30 years” which makes more sense. I originally thought it was per year, in which case the amount seemed off.
Surely you meant $19.4 million, not billion?

9·3 months agoIt was definitely intentional, but also it looks like only one punch. The video just shows it from 2 angles.
Still enough to hopefully get the pig suspended and fined.
flamingo said, a couple comments up, that it’s the first last name of both parents. So Child1 should be B J or J B, Child2 should be the same and Child3 should hence be B B, B J, J B, or J J depending on what 1 and 2 chose. Right?

They still don’t want to allow same-sex marriages though, although individual priests are allowed to go against the guidelines.

World News@lemmy.world•Purra wants to close Finland's education agency following her party's accusations of 'woke ideology'English
1·3 months agoTo be fair, this mainly seems lika Purra being Purra, or in other words, a lunatic. This is only her proposal for new budget cuts and none of the other government parties have agreed with them so far.
In fact, even the NCP have said this proposal doesn’t seem reasonable and will need a lot of negotiation to even become somewhat feasible. Let’s see this autumn where the negotiations lead us, but I don’t believe most of it will make it into the budget plan.

For anyone else who’s still confused, Horton Hears a Who! is a book by Dr. Seuss about a speck of dust that’s also a tiny planet and some elephants that try to destroy it.

World News@lemmy.world•Thai PM says dispute with Cambodia could 'escalate into a state of war'English
6·4 months agoAs far as I understand, it’s still a bit unclear.
Thailand claims Cambodian troops were approaching a Thai border guard station and started firing towards the Thai soldiers, leading to the Thai soldiers firing back.
Cambodia claims the patrol was walking the regular route, and Thai soldiers suddenly opened fire towards them.
Obviously one (or both) is lying, and the situation escalated quickly.

261·4 months agoWhy not just add speed limits to areas where higher speeds are an issue? That’s been the approach to cars – no car is limited to 140 kmh despite speeds above that are illegal pretty much everywhere…
Regular bikes can easily go above 15 mph as well, so why should this only affect e-bikes?

Herb is ört in Swedish. Gräs is better translated as grass, so ogräs is non-grass. This also enables a funny way to insult someone’s lawn – since lawn is gräsmatta (grass carpet) – by calling it an ogräsmatta.

I’m pretty sure the real reason it’s projected is so it doesn’t get covered by snow in the winter. At least that’s the reason for projected street signs elsewhere in Finland, such as in Oulu.
