Just out of curiosity, who is this question directed at?

Well lets have a serious discussion. According to your worldview, why is there such wealth inequality in the USA?

These are just some charts that display some basic data, of course the matter is more complicated.
Honesty, I thought you were a far-right german, based on how you called all leftists lazy and your username and instance being german. But I see you deleted your previous comment, so I looked at a bit of your comment history, and I was apparently mistaken. My apologies for lumping you in with neo-nazis.
I just cannot fathom what brings someone to make blanket statements about giant groups of people like that, other than ignorance and/or propaganda indoctrination.
I’ve never seen an AFD guy on lemmy, this is a first for me.
This is awesome. I hope more innovations in this direction follow.

Ask Science@lemmy.world•Is stars form into black holes during it dieing days, Then is safe to bet on our star going for black holy and at the minimum sucking the first three planets up?English
22·11 days agoOur star will never become a black hole, it does not have enough mass. In roughly 5 Billion years from now it will become a red giant, it will make earth uninhabitable, but may not destroy it outright.
So we have some time to prepare.

Linux@lemmy.world•I'm struggling to use GIMP as someone used to Photoshop, how can I learn GIMP properly?English
164·14 days agoWell, there is this:
edit: see comment below
Otherwise, I think the best way to go forward is just to watch tutorials and practice. I made the transition several years ago, and it helped to have the expectation similar to learning a new language. The more you accept that you will have to take it slow and look everything up at the beginning, the better your experience will be.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Sablier: bring your docker containers up on demandEnglish
8·15 days agoCool, thanks! I’m just getting started with self-hosting, so I doubt that I will need such on-demand scaling, but now I know where to find it if that changes.

Technology@lemmy.world•Fairphone posted 83% year-on-year growth in Q4 2025 - A journey away from Big Tech to a more sustainable alternativeEnglish
38·16 days agoI have eOS on the fairphone 5, and I have had zero problems with banking apps and the like.
That doesn’t mean you won’t have problems though, I don’t use many of those kinds of apps other than a bank authentication app, and a few others for public transit tickets, etc. I also live in europe, milage may vary elsewhere.
Keep in mind that eOS IS android, just with google telemetry removed. You can add a google account if you want/need to, at which point any android app should work as expected. That of course defeats the purpose somewhat, but even then eOS will still help you stay as private as possible by informing you about app trackers and using alternative services for location, etc.

Ask Science@lemmy.world•What would it look like if time were expanding?English
2·20 days agoMaybe? The truth of the matter is that we don’t really know very much about reality. Dark matter and dark energy are placeholders for something in reality that we have no explanation for, like the nested heavenly spheres of the earth-centric astrophysical model that describe the retrograde motion of the planets.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celestial_spheres
The expansion of the universe is also likely to be a misinterpretation of reality as it really is. Especially with findings of the james web telescope, we are constantly finding phenomena that show us just how little we understand.
And if you learn about evolution and perception, you start why we can get things so wrong.

Ask Science@lemmy.world•What would it look like if time were expanding?English
9·20 days agoIf you assume that space is expanding, then time is also expanding.
The expansion of the universe cannot be observed locally, you have to look at something very far away to see the redshift of some distant star or galaxy. By doing so you are looking back through time. The farther away you look, the farther back in time you are seeing. But the rate at which the distant objects are accelerating away from you is not static, it is increasing as the distance increases.
So the time it takes for the light to get to you is increasing. Time is expanding relative to you. Time and space are not separate, they are linked. If something gets far enough away, then the time it takes for it’s light to reach you becomes infinite, essentially removing it from your existence entirely.

5·21 days agoThis guy must be on to something. Look at that hair! That is some Einstein-level-crazy-genius hair.

Seriously though, I applaud the return to systematic and grounded theory, and enjoyed the article. The title is a little too click-baity, but the content is factual and sober imho.

Memes@sopuli.xyz•BREAKING: Sam Altman points out that putting out fires in orphanages also uses a lot of water.
78·28 days agoNo, he didn’t. Please, for your sake and ours, learn to search for facts yourself instead of asking strangers on the internet to do it for you.
The world has been run by fascists before. Hiding is cowardice, and that is EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Don’t give it to them. If you want to die proud of yourself, then get involved in the resistance.
Work on rejecting big tech. Do your part to defund them, don’t give them any money or data if you can.
If you have money to spare, donate to organizations that work to protect our rights. Or donate your time if you have some to spare.
Learn about mesh networks and buy some hardware. It is cheap, a fun hobby, and may become crucial infrastructure at some point in the near future.
Talk to your neighbors, get involved. Read about anarchism and get inspired to act locally to help others. Don’t fret the big picture, just try and leave your little bit of land better than you found it.
And when those fascists come for you and yours, give them hell.
Die proud.
Yeah, DCSS will do that sort of stuff from time to time. But you were smart, and you avoided it! Good for you.
I had the same thought. I signed up to be notified when the project starts, but never got an email.
Perhaps they have just had massive delays, but I too would suggest caution.

And you expect them to answer questions about the philosophical beliefs of the artist?
