I have a love hate relationship with my remote job. I hate my job and its incredibly difficult to motivate myself to be productive, especially with all the distractions at home which leads to constant procrastination and worry about deadlines. But then again I am at home and not an office which saves me a lot of time and money and slow days are just filled with world of warcraft.

You’ll stay healthy for life if you bike to work everyday its worth it for that reason, but it sucks not having the dedicated bike lanes that other countries tend to have.

Parents don’t even need to be actively pushing you away they can just be dumb and oblivious to their actions and refuse to do any self reflection.

My mom is this way, she voted for Trump so I confronted her on it and told her she chose to support a vile man over her own child and she’s just like “politics doesn’t equal love, who I voted for doesn’t reflect my love for you.” I told her you can’t vote to take away my healthcare and rights and still say she cares about me. She just refused to accept that and the last words she said to me was that I would understand things in time and come back to her. We haven’t spoken in over a year and tbh life is actually better without her.

I know how this will play out too, she won’t try and fix things until my wife and I have a child which will be the first grandchild of hers. At that point it will be far to late in my eyes.

The solution is to focus on our education system and possibly start requiring school before people can do certain things. I think for example in order to have kids you should be required to take a parenting class for a period of time. I mainly bring this up because my wife is a teacher and at least half of her students each year have parents who either don’t want to be a parent or have zero idea how to be a parent. Some form of required education will be a barrier between those who don’t want kids and useful for those who don’t know what to do. My wife and I fostered kids for a period of time and we were not only required to take classes before we could but we had to redo those classes each year, and that was just to foster kids not have them for example.

Its not perfect but too many people are having kids and not doing anything for themselves to be prepared for that, they just rely on the schools to do everything and there is only so much a teacher can do for these kids. My wife who teaches elementary aged kids has had on numerous occasions to teach children how to wipe their own butts because their parents won’t do it themselves, this isn’t something a teacher should have to do but its either she explains it to them or deals with a stinky child all day who is upset because of it. This is just one example and there are numerous others.

IDK the many allow the few to do what they want, if we all really tried we could have this over in a week. It doesn’t even take everyone too, only like 3.5% of a population is required to overthrow a government.

I heard that the last ship from the middle east coming to the US with oil would arrive on April 15th so we have yet to experience the shortage of oil just because of how long it takes these ships to travel across the world. People act like everything is fine and here I am stocking up on supplies and I purchasing some bikes for when gas becomes a really big issue. I hope I am wrong and I am just another crazy person but I would rather be somewhat prepared than pretending like everything is fine.

Your lesser evil is directly responsible for Trump becoming president and has done nothing to stop him. They could have arrested him for trying to overthrow the government in 2021 and also for the Epstein files decades ago. They could also choose good candidates to run that have policies that people like, yet they don’t. Even now they do nothing to try and stop what is happening. Both sides are responsible for how the country is today.

If we were to take the top 1% of peoples wealth in the US alone and redistribute it to everyone in the US. Everyone would receive enough to buy a house outright. So we either have a few rich parasites that control everything and ruin peoples lives for numbers on a spreadsheet, or everyone gets a house.
