1·1 month agoThank you. Totally misinterpreted the word
presentas in being present, causing me to think the sentence didn’t make sense. I need to sleep.

“then present that knowledge in ways that break the virtuous cycle Wikipedia depends on.”

2·1 month agoI don’t usually lower myself to ad hominems, but goddamn demon spawn shit-for-brains. She’s more disturbing than possessed Regan MacNeil in The Exorcist.

37·1 month agoYeah that’s cold blooded murder alright. This group of fat fucks couldn’t even take one guy and so they killed him out of spite. It’s going downhill with the USA at an accelerating pace.

Linux@lemmy.world•Where is Linux not working well in your daily usage? Share your pain points as of 2026, so we can respectfully discussEnglish
0·1 month agoDevs not working together to make Wayland universally supported and bug free ASAP or fixing X11 ASAP. With Microslop Windoze being as horrible as it is we cannot permit ourselves to fight these silly internal battles; as long as someone is not bullying, raping, killing, or, you know, peddling crypto and cheering ICE, then give each other some slack.
As for daily usage I have no gripes. Linux works excellently. If I still gamed as much as I did back in the day then these shitty kernel anti-cheats would bother me,* now I simply don’t touch them.
*Not a Linux problem but an anti-cheat engineering skill issue. Looking at you EA; RIP Battlefield 1.

Europe@feddit.org•Björk sends a message to Greenland: 'declare independence!'English
2·2 months agoI do like Björk but I’m not sure how much weight to give her opinions about international politics.
It doesn’t matter who says what, but that what is said is ethical and logically sound. But yeah, obviously the larger the fanbase the more eloquent/nuanced one should be.

Political Discussion and Commentary@lemmy.world•Why is Trump able to do whatever the fuck he wants?English
7·2 months agoBecause we largely still have a me-first populace in no small part thanks to corporate “social” media. This enhances the belief of having too much to lose which prevents people from flooding the streets and taking matters into their own hands by force.

“Maybe we naively funded them enough for this to not be true. Now they are self sustainable.”
It’s impossible for the rich to be self-sustainable—or for anyone living a modern lifestyle. All of their foodstuff, medicine, and other things that keep them alive are produced by the general populace. Also, most of their wealth is immaterial stock market value, so if the world goes to shit, so does their net worth. They need us more than we need them, but most are under the impression that the opposite is true. We’d be totally fine without most of their trinkets we’ve become accustomed to.
Not anymore, adjusted the URL.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Mark Zuckerberg gifted noise-canceling headphones to his Palo Alto neighbors because of the non-stop construction around his 11 homesEnglish
551·2 months agoThat’s it. From now on I dedicate my life to siphoning as much money from these unethical soulless bastards as possible to divert it to society-beneficial non-profits. More Linux, more skateparks, better education, more affordable housing, universal healthcare, et cetera. Never have I ever loathed one person so much as Mark Zuckerberg.
🎅 “Yippee ki-yay, motherfucker.”
⚜︎ arscyni.cc: modernity ∝ nature.
“His name is already on the image where he signed it.”
- With every “Save Image As” → “Share” cycle the picture quality tends to degrade. Sooner or later the signature becomes illegible or simply cropped out. Just look at the image quality difference now, after only being one day old!
- Moreover, few people click a link to the source to check out the artist. But, even fewer read the signature, search for the name, and start browsing from there. Let alone the hassle of reverse image searching.

One less religious despot, good. Too bad it took two other despots to do it though; would’ve preferred the Iranian people’s uprising had sufficed. But, I don’t understand the attack on an elementary school. Was it hit due to collateral damage?
