61·5 hours agoAlways ask them “What’s your plan?” That usually shuts them up or makes them admit they have no plans.
That’s just, like, your opinion, man.
I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it’s an ethos.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Can you really seperate the art from the artist?
184·1 day agoan artist’s worldview informs their art, so things like racism/misogyny/ableism etc etc seep into the works they create.
I disagree with this part. People are extremely complex and not even internally consistent with themselves. I don’t think it’s a given that any and all bad qualities they possess are necessarily going to be present in art they create.
Love my unprocessed peanut butter, but the processed stuff is great for making Alton Brown’s peanut butter fudge.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do all night show hosts sit and have their desk to the left of the interviewee?
232·1 day agoProbably because that’s how The Tonight Show Starting Johnny Carson was set up, and subsequent late night talk shows have generally emulated its style and setup.

There are whole ecosystems we’ve basically never sampled.
This drives me crazy. Along with the fact that we’ll probably never know about the various colors and fleshy structures that these animals had.

News@lemmy.world•Ticketmaster quietly raised other fees after US crackdown on hidden charges
22·2 days agoMy desire to see my favorite acts is greater than my desire to take trust busting upon myself. I can and do see shows at my local dives but I’m not going to abandon my favorite bands just because more people like them than before.

News@lemmy.world•Ticketmaster quietly raised other fees after US crackdown on hidden charges
71·2 days agoThat’s just punishing both artists and long-time loyal fans for the artists being popular. It’s not their fault that there’s a monopoly on venues bigger than hyper-local clubs and bars.

18·2 days agoThe problem with this, if you follow it to its natural conclusion, is that the “best” local bands eventually popular enough that they’re playing Ticketmaster/Livenation venues.
