I have tried to get… addicted to this short form video thing (through IG reels, and Youtube shorts, I don’t have tiktok), without success. I just don’t see what people find in it. Sure, it’s fun for about 5 minutes, no more than that. I use IG to follow my favorite artists only, and youtube for recipes, philosophical conversations, NDE reports, and other metaphysical stuff. I can’t stand people dancing or AI cats baking bread.

You misunderstood my comment. I NEVER said that the old Trek was subtle. Your whole reply is hinging on that point, which is not true. I said that they made the focus of an episode to EXPLORE ethical issues, while on new trek, they take them for granted and then they go on to have a formal adventure.

As both a trekie and a leftie, I must say that the conservatives who complain about modern Trek are not 100% wrong. Yes, Trek was always about social justice, but the episodes were about exploring why something was right or ethical. The new Trek takes this for granted, while half the population is not in agreement, or in a state of confusion. Instead of showing WHY something is good and just and explore it within an episode, they just present it as fact, and then they go off to some random adventure. This rubs off badly half the population. Yes, you can go all out and say that it’s the conservatives’ fault, and it is, but the reality is, the delivery HAS changed. New trek is not the same as old trek.

The Orville was a much more old trek-style show, and people universally loved it more than the new trek, despite being progressive.

Sorry to break it to you but the blame lies with the American people. In Europe, when something like this happens, everyone’s on the streets and there are strikes everywhere. And the protests almost always turn violent. And we’re talking about large demonstrations of millions, not a few hundred/thousands as in the US. In the US, the demonstrations kinda feel like a spectacle, a show that you join for a couple of hours. In Europe it means business. I’m also American, but I’m currently in Greece. I’ve seen the differences with my own eyes.

Yeah, snaps won’t be able to access the “external” codecs (outside their jail). So either install the official firefox package from the firefox site, or chrome.

You need to install the codecs, there’s a way to do it on ubuntu, just google search it (and there’s an option during installation to do it too). The N150 cpu and its integrated gpu is not a problem for your codec problem, it’s a matter of installing the right software.

I’m an artist, and I have that version too, running it under qemu/Win10 (it won’t run on Wine), under my Debian-Testing main OS. However, I have actually moved to Gimp 3 recently for all my work. For my newer work, I just use Gimp all the way.
