Hobson’s bay and Mooney valley (and probably other) libraries are extending their hours tomorrow to provide an air-conditioned spot for people. If anyone needs it.

Beach was a bit seaweedy but the water temp was perfect. I am grateful to past me for putting all my stuff back in the beach bag (after it dried) after my last trip. Easy to grab and take to the office this morning for sneaky after work dip.
Great shots - all from around Brissie?
hahahaha. I approve
Yep. And I realised I hadn’t boiled the kettle yesterday by the sound it made when I pour it
Cheers to all the back to work people today. May our inboxes be quiet and may it be quiet enough to keep one eye on the cricket.
Order: up and actually feeling good -> wash hair -> coffee -> go see fam before they leave -> ohh shortbread -> log shortbread in new calorie app -> regret -> food shopping -> ooh prawns -> salad and prawns for lunch for last day of hols-> cricket and food prep -> don’t think about work tomorrow…
Paid nine Buckaroos for an ice cream at the beach the other day. From a dodgy van too. Bog standard
Personally (and YMMV - I am a short arse) I would pick an aisle seat even if there’s others in the row. Middle sucks on long haul. Aisle means you can put your feet out a bit and get up and stretch anytime. Seats can fill up and change at the last minute. And if there are empty seats near you you can move. Just wait until after take off and give a nod to the flight staff to check it’s ok
Less news; more magpies might be my 2026 motto…
So apparently substack want me to verify my age with a face scan/image and government ID info. Oh hells no… I was only trying to log in to delete my account anyway. I’m still getting emails with posts in them so this is not about protection. Grrr. And I can’t seem to contact a human.
So a bit of a PSA I guess.
Ok. Now I have sufficiently Christmased and new yeared and holidayed I think it’s time to climb myself up on the old wagon. Dry January and restart some better food choices including some meal prep so the Thursday night CBFs don’t derail me.
Wander along the waterfront and catch up at a local with some friends/fam early. Might stick around to see if I can see the 9:30 fireworks. Hopefully home in bed by 10:30 😊 which is just perfect in my books
I hear ya and I feel for you. I am planning to double down on anti-inflammatory foods etc in the new year because random inflammation/autoimmune shenanigans are kicking my arse…but they can prise the coffee out of my cold dead hands.
Ugh. Keep finding myself falling back asleep. Up. Now. Coffee and walk and beach
Ooohhh a sooper Zooper dooper … dooo it!
