Sadly, the blood of patriots is a necessary ingredient. From environmental protection to civil rights to labor rights to women’s suffrage to the Civil War to the Revolutionary War the blood of patriots was shed. Tyrants ensure this happens.

Glad they dropped the bullshit. You and they done good, regardless of where your friendship currently is.

Was your friend a nazi or sympathetic to Nazi ideologies? If so, did your nazi friend realize that his Nazi beliefs sucked and at least left them behind? Or did they normalize and promote those beliefs? If they did the latter and you still invite them, your place might be a Nazi house.
Or is your friend a run of the mill conservative? Then not likely a Nazi.

As someone inside of this mess, my point is that there are too many legal proceedings in too broad of a range of issues for SCOTUS to be given the opportunity to overturn all of them, barring SCOTUS giving POTUS the explicit power to fully ignore the Constitution and nullifying all state and regional courts and their decisions. Is this impossible? No. However if that doesn’t happen, a rickety frame of rulings and laws supporting the Constitution are likely to still exist in the U.S. when he passes from the mortal coil. The judiciary (SCOTUS and some circuit courts notwithstanding) and the citizens are the only entities who have consistently and successfully stood up to the administration, even if most of those wins have been small.
We are completely agreed on ICE/DHS.

They were made for each outer. /derogatory

Oh god, yes. Still, between Habeas petitions, lawsuits against administration hirings and firings, and many others. The litigants are flooding the judiciary and the Supreme Court logistically can’t overrule everything.

Fair. Looking purely at 30k, we were already screwed, and this administration is mostly successful at speed running it. The judiciary is where we have a fighting chance, barring many people getting off their screens (self: guilty) and staying in the streets until we make structural change.*
*Defined by many different people in many different ways.

We’re not completely screwed until they replace enough judges. The ones in place are able to slow if not fully prevent many of these abuses, primarily ones where the government has to operate through the judicial branch.

Per a NY Times article I read the judge is pissed that neither is party of the case informed him of the settlement when they met with the court on Friday. Possibly paywalled: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/09/arts/music/live-nation-ticketmaster-antitrust-suit-settled.html

It was refreshing visiting fast food places abroad where they seemed very happy to sell me the food. However, that was a culture that already valued conformity and having an agreeable public front at all times.
Nonetheless, surveillance culture is absurd. If they want people to seem happy to be there, they should make the people who are there as happy as they can.

Yeah….the customers are the problem…not the tariffs, not the auto industries, not the financial industries, not the marketing practices of these companies.
Even people who’ve been doing relatively well have had their costs jacked up even more as we move from income taxes to tariffs. Wages in the bottom have remained stagnant. First time home ownership’s average age is 40. They’ve/We’ve all drank the materialist capitalist kool-aid and it’s hard to take back what control we do have.

Generally having propagandists in charge of what will be one of the largest media conglomerates. Probably more bribes, I mean documentaries, for those in the administration. I expect Bari to be put in charge of CNN, kneecapping another source of opposition media for this administration. That’s in addition to the further consolidation of media (which would have been a problem regardless of who bought it).

It’s long past time to kill executive orders. Even the times they are used for good, they are often legally dubious and live on the whims of the courts.

I’ve never been into it, but at this point I want to see if PWHL games are near me or at least stream them somewhere. The women could use all the support.

Hey BBC, get a new media partner.
Your pal,
Me

Get ‘em, Judge!
Eww. CBS is linking to Free Press articles. What next ABC News and Epoch News?!?

They misunderstood Ted Lasso so hard.

Let Freedom…not make any sound?
Then there is the 4th…at least for medical services…costs. If you can’t afford the good insurance, everything costs so much more money. Even adults are putting off exams and preventative care because wallets are being squeezed from all sides.
