It’s not just about reaction times and prediction skills. It’s about dissipating all that excess kinetic energy when things go wrong. Vehicle stopping distances necessarily get longer as velocity increases. One inattentive driver’s sudden lane change, or a child’s quick dart into the roadway, and you’ll be wishing you had an extra 50 feet of stopping distance instead of those sharp reflexes.

If you have such a low opinion of other drivers on the road, why would you believe that this is a good idea? These speeds don’t give you much time to react to someone else’s unpredictable or unwise descisions. You are going to get yourself or someone else hurt. Slow down.
