I’m tired of seeing this double standard where if a man has a collarbone visible nobody bats an eye but god forbid a woman has some bone showing, she must automatically be starving herself or unhealthy. It’s like no matter what a woman’s body looks like, she just can’t win. She has to be in this extremely narrow range or she’s either anorexic or morbidly obese. I used to have Ariana’s body type. I had prominent abs and had the most energy I had in my life back then. BMI is wildly inaccurate, too. You could have a BMI of 20 while having a body fat percentage in the obese range. Women aren’t supposed to weigh as much as men at the same height, they have less muscle which is also the reason why Asian BMI over 23 is considered overweight or obese since they’re supposed to be lighter

It’s often said that opinions are assholes, everyone has one and they all stink. I’d like to make an addition though; I only want to take a peak at a select few of those assholes. Stay away from YouTube drama and the TMZ ilk. They’re all vultures.

The real range between anorexic and obese is much wider than some say. But IMHO she is below her weight. I’m not saying that’s bad or good. Just my (I repeat: my) opinion. After all, it’s her body and her life.

At best, I think some well-meaning people are overreacting to the unrealistic body standards that women are judged by. You’re right, though. She’s only 5’ 1”. She’s just smaller than average. Relax, people. It’s not an issue.

I imagine the overreaction is more of a sensationalized social media thing than anything. Same as headlines that use words like “SLAMMED”. Whatever it takes for the clicks.

Yeah I don’t think many people would argue with the title of your post, if anything I would say she fits that narrow range.

I’ve seen so many people on TikTok and YouTube act like she’s literally dying and claim she must be starving herself.

That’s because the algos boost such inflammatory content. Normal people don’t think this unless they’ve been bombarded with similar videos, because it’s ridiculous.

I’m all for raging pitchforks over this. But the place to do it is Silicon Valley.

Then you are clearly watching/interacting with the wrong people/bots/trolls. Besides TikTok isn’t doing anyone any favours.
