If I had a nickel for every time a Grumman test pilot shot himself down I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Whats the second time? I have been reading about the f11 test, which seems to be the implied one in the image.
The second one was a F-14 Tomcat in 1973, if I remember correctly. Basically they were testing the missile system and it didn’t launch correctly. Upon being deployed the missile came back up and hit the plane.
One of the pilots actually wrote an article about the incident for a magazine.
Thank you kind sir
It was the bullets’ fault for being so slow
I did the math and if they’d’ve shot spherical cows like I suggested this would have never happened
Like shooting a laser at warp speed.
