@JimsPhotos Saw som tree sparrows today and were reminded of your photo.
This is not super sharp but maybe good enough for a comparision. Beak is definitely lighter and it has a yellow base.

@[email protected] Exactly! So cool!
@[email protected] Wow, looks like another bird!
Kolombiken@front-end.socialtoPhotography@fedia.io•This one is a Common Buzzard, such a great looking bird
1·9 months ago@[email protected] They are just variation of color. And if understood correctly the color variations are common in Sweden and Germany? But I’m no expert either.
Here’s a link (in Swedish) to an image of the white variation.

But I find them hard to id sometimes since there are so many variations.
Saw my first ”börringevråk”, the white variation, this winter and I was shocked. It looked like a completely different bird.

Is it a portable one or a permanent?

@[email protected] Interesting! Tree sparrows around where I live have a beak that’s more on the gray side. But this looks black to me.
And now I need to photograph one around here so I can do a proper comparison.
@[email protected] Why is the beak so dark? Is that the local variety?
Kolombiken@front-end.socialtoPhotography@fedia.io•My favourite bird, the Northern Gannet

Kolombiken@front-end.socialtoPhotography@fedia.io•Managed 4 hours this afternoon walking the cliffs from Flamborough to just past North Landing in fairly expected conditions [high winds and light rain, with the occasional patch of sun].
1·11 months ago@[email protected] So this was the second one. And you managed to take a really good photo too. Nice!

Kolombiken@front-end.socialtoPhotography@fedia.io•My fave woodpecker, the Green Woodpecker.
1·1 year ago@[email protected] Got it!
It does have a fun sound. I also kind of like that the drumming sounds like it needs a bit more practice. Here we have two different green ones. Green woodpecker and Grey-headed woodpecker. Then we have the Black woodpecker and four different kinds of ”white and black” woodpecker.

Kolombiken@front-end.socialtoPhotography@fedia.io•One of the most expressive birds you can photograph.
1·1 year ago@[email protected] Always happy? 😂

@JimsPhotos I like it sharp though. At least when it’s a photo were I’m trying to see the birds features. Maybe this is due to my own vision being blurry so if the photo is also blurry it gets double-blurred? 😅
Anyway I think the variety among treesparrows are really interesting!
